Limb Bagging (Ozone Therapy)

Limb-bagging introduces topical ozone gas directly to an affected area of the skin. A limb, such as an arm or leg, is covered with a plastic bag which is filled with ozone gas through a small opening in the bag.

Many use a clear PVC bag (or any plastic bag) and evacuate the air. Secure it at the top and bottom. Insert the ozone gas on one end and have another tube for evacuation of the gas through a charcoal destruct so ozone does not escape. Different levels of gas (gamma) are recommended for either disinfection or to promote healing tissue reconstruction.

At our Alternative and Holistic clinic, this application is helpful in the treatment of many types of topical infections including:

  • Diabetic ulcers

  • Onychomycosis (fungal nail infection)

  • Athlete’s foot

  • Tinea versicolor

  • Bacterial Infections

  • Wound healing

Ozone’s anti-microbial effects have been found to be quite effective for treating infections of the skin and nails in clinical research. Fungal infections of the nails have responded better to ozone treatment than standard medical treatment, as well the skin ulcers showing a significant improvement.

Depending on how severe the problem is or until the problem abates. (1-5 times per week, 1-2 times per day)

There is no pain or pressure buildup with Ozone.  If you experience any discomfort the doctor will lower your dose. Children tolerate it well.
